Hampton Roads Postpartum Doula
You’ve done everything to prepare for baby and now they are here! Now what?
You’ve done everything to prepare for baby and now they are here! Now what?
As your postpartum doula, I come to you to help you through the 4th trimester. I help you heal and bond with baby. My focus is on you as the parent. Postpartum doulas provide physical and emotional support after baby is born. That can look like overnight support while allowing the parents to rest or daytime support and assisting with breastfeeding, newborn care or light housekeeping. By hiring a postpartum doula you will have support, motivation and encouragement to get through the first few weeks or months after having a baby.
This can look like:
• Breastfeeding guidance & techniques
• Caring for mom as she recovers from childbirth or C-section
• Interpreting baby cues
• Care for baby when parents want to shower, nap, eat or catch up on self-care
• Baby wearing assistance
• Soothing, changing diapers and feeding baby
• Light housekeeping
• Running errands
• Resources & Referrals (massage, pediatric dentists for lip/tongue ties, chiropractor, etc.)
• Hands-on education for mom & baby
Whether you need help organizing or setting up baby stations throughout your home, or just need a second pair of eyes to ensure you have everything for baby, Nesting Visits can help prepare you and your home before baby arrives! These visits include up to 3 hours of in-person support and can be added to a package or on its own.
Sometimes you don’t necessarily need in person postpartum support but have so many questions and concerns or would like tips and tricks from an experienced mom and postpartum doula. I can be there to support you virtually! You’ll have 24/7 access to my personal cell to either call or text for the first 4 weeks after bringing baby home.
After starting my journey as a postpartum personal chef in 2021 and making food to nourish parents after bringing baby home, I wanted to expand my knowledge to support them in every aspect during those first intimate months. So I decided to take the leap and complete doula training with “Sisters In Loss” in 2023. Since then I have been working toward my DONA Postpartum certification. I not only have personal experience with birthing and caring for my own children but have had the pleasure of working with over 20 families since starting my doula journey only a few years ago! I have experience with multiples (twins), families dealing with loss, military, single parent families, infertility, IVF and surrogacy.
